A4 Holding reaffirms its commitment to road safety and the wellbeing of professional drivers by hosting the Italian edition of ESPORG’s European Wellbeing Initiative, as part of the European campaign dedicated to truck drivers’ wellbeing.

The initiative, held over two days (June 5–6), represents an important opportunity for dialogue with the road transport sector on issues such as health, prevention, and the quality of life of professional drivers—key figures for mobility and logistics. Institutional talks will be combined with wellbeing activities, networking opportunities, and interactive sessions focused on workers’ safety. Osteopathy experts will also be on site to meet drivers, providing guidance on exercises and proper posture, alongside the chance to undergo free wellbeing check-ups.

Special attention will also be given to the crucial role of secure parking areas in improving driver safety and wellbeing. Truck Park Brescia Est—awarded the European standard for safe parking with GOLD certification—provides an ideal setting to demonstrate how high-quality, secure infrastructure can concretely enhance the working and living conditions of professional drivers.

During the morning of June 5, as part of the institutional meeting “Drive Safe · Park Safe · Work Safe · Live Well,” a moment of dialogue and exchange among diverse stakeholders in the road transport sector, the new campaign Hi, I’m Gianni, let me offer you a coffee will also be presented. Promoted by A4 Holding, the campaign aims to raise awareness of the risks of driver fatigue, a frequent cause of road accidents.

Inspired by real-life events, the campaign highlights the consequences of insufficient rest while driving, emphasizing the importance of stopping, recovering energy, and listening to one’s body before continuing a journey. Originally developed by Fundación Abertis and gradually adopted across the Group, including A4 Holding, the initiative is part of a broader international project promoting safer and more responsible mobility, in collaboration with institutional and scientific partners active in health, prevention, and road safety.

According to United Nations data, road accidents cause approximately 1.3 million deaths globally each year. In this context, driver fatigue remains one of the least perceived risk factors, despite scientific studies showing that driving after fewer than five hours of sleep impairs reaction time, attention, and decision-making, with effects comparable to those of alcohol.

We are honored to host the European Wellbeing Campaign in Italy for the first time at the Brescia Est truck park, said Piergiovanni Pisani, General Manager of A4 Trading. “Thanks to its ample secure parking facilities and comprehensive range of services, our site is much more than just a rest area—it is a place where drivers can truly rest and recover. This event confirms our strong commitment to driver safety and wellbeing, as well as to the highest safety standards for truck parking facilities.

Awareness and engagement activities will continue on June 6 as part of the annual Universal Truck Show, an event dedicated to the truck industry that attracts enthusiasts and professionals from across Italy.
