The "On the Right Road" contest to raise awarness of sustainable mobility among young drivers of tomorrow has concluded
04 March 2024

The first edition of the “On the Right Road” contest, promoted by Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova of the A4 Holding Group in collaboration with partners Fondazione Arena di Verona, MAN Bus & Truck, Parco Natura Viva, and Verona Strada Sicura, and endorsed by the Veneto Region and the Province of Brescia, has concluded. The project targeted primary school students in the Veneto Region and the Province of Brescia, specifically those in the third, fourth, and fifth grades, with the aim of engaging young learners in a creative exploration of sustainable mobility.

The contest involved the evaluation and awarding of digital, compositional, or artistic works prepared by individual students or classes. These works presented their considerations, ideas, and possible solutions on sustainable mobility in a creative and original manner, focusing on road safety, environmental protection, and territorial value.

Dozens of schools participated, particularly from the Provinces of Vicenza, Padova, Venezia, and Treviso. Their students effectively communicated the importance of a more sustainable future, earning prizes that included financial contributions for purchasing new educational materials and training days organized within Natura Viva Park in Verona, with Fondazione Arena di Verona, and at Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova headquarters.

The jury, comprised of representatives from A4 Holding Group and project partners, awarded the following: the third and fifth-grade classes of the Corner Comprehensive Institute in Fossò, the fourth-grade class of Alvise Pisani Institute in Strà, and the fifth-grade class of the Rufinio Turranio Institute in Concordia Sagittaria for the Province of Venezia; the third-grade class of the Palladio Comprehensive Institute in Alonte and the fifth-grade class of the Floriani Institute in Recoaro Terme for the Province of Vicenza; the fifth-grade class of the De Amicis Institute in Abano Terme for the Province of Padova; and four fourth and fifth-grade classes of the Roncade Comprehensive Institute in Roncade for the Province of Treviso. These classes were recognized for their creativity, awareness, and artistic technique.

The award ceremony for the winning classes of the three absolute prizes — Road Safety, Environmental Protection, and Territorial Value — will take place during educational outings hosted by Autostrada Brescia Verona Vicenza Padova and the contest partners. This will allow all students involved to receive due recognition for their sensitivity to this important topic.

"We are particularly proud of the attention and participation shown by the many institutes in the territory for the first edition of the 'On The Right Road' contest," commented Gonzalo Alcade Rodriguez, Chairman of A4 Holding. "This project is significant for us, as it enhances creativity and raises greater awareness among children about such a topical issue. We believe that those who will drive the streets of tomorrow have the right and duty to propose solutions to improve today's and tomorrow's mobility, even through their artistic capacities."

Given the great success of the initiative, the A4 Holding Group is already working on launching the second edition of the contest, which will follow the same format, benefiting primary schools in the Veneto Region and the Province of Brescia once again. This will provide another opportunity for students to address the main themes of sustainable mobility.
